Based on the Pompeii style rudius, constructed of hickory and with walnut pommel and guard, this sword is decorative only and not suitable for fighting.  The larger picture shows an example of how these swords have been used by one of our customers as retirement gifts for the Army Corps of Engineers in Naples, Italy.
